terms and conditions
confidentiality

All sessions are confidential, however there are exceptions which are outlined below;

I work under the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Ethical Framework.

As a member of the BACP, I am required to regularly attend supervision where I discuss my clients anonymously to ensure best practice.

Certain circumstances might require me to speak to a client's GP or other health/social professionals also involved in their care. This would usually be done with the client’s permission, but if there was an instance where someone was in real danger (either the client or someone we discuss) I would legally be required to do so with or without permission.

There are also legal requirements for me to break confidentiality around issues of Terrorism or Money Laundering offences.

cancellations and attendance

If you do not attend the appointment or give less than 48 hours notice, the agreed fee will still be payable. With more than 48 hours notice I will endeavour to find an alternative time slot.

If you miss two consecutive sessions with no notice, I will assume you no longer want counselling and your slot will be offered to someone else.

If a client is late for a session, I cannot overrun to make up the time at the end of the session.

If the client is under the influence of drugs or alcohol the session cannot take place.
